Luanshya

Luanshya is nicknamed the Valley of Death due to high mortality rates during early mining development.

Luanshya means 'river of antelopes' because many antelopes were found in the area before mining settlements.

Luanshya is home to a Technical and Vocational Teacher's College that has graduated many teachers in technical subjects.

The town has three hospitals: Roan General Hospital, Thomson Hospital, and Luanshya Hospital.

Many urban roads in Luanshya are named after trees and are organized alphabetically.
