Ettelbruck

Ettelbruck was first liberated by US forces on 11 September 1944 and was finally liberated on Christmas Day, 25 December 1944.

The General George S. Patton Memorial Museum in Ettelbruck opened in July 1995 to honor the general who liberated the town.

Ettelbruck is home to the Central Hospice, which is now the location of the Ettelbruck Neuro-Psychiatric Hospital founded in 1855.

Ons Heemecht, the national anthem of Luxembourg, was first sung publicly in Ettelbruck on 5 June 1864.

Ettelbruck has been the home of the football team FC Etzella Ettelbruck since 1917.
