Kasama

Kasama is located on the M1 road, which connects it to both Mpika in the south and Mbala in the north.

The population of Kasama grew significantly in the 1970s and 1980s due to the construction of the TAZARA Railway.

Kasama became the largest and dominant town of the north-eastern lobe of Northern Rhodesia due to its central location.

Kasama is in the heartland of the Bemba ethnic group, with their Paramount Chief Chitimukulu's headquarters located 9 kilometres from Malole.

The Chishimba Falls, located across the Luombe River, host a 15 megawatts hydroelectric power station and are a major tourist attraction.
