Athens is the capital and largest city of Greece. A significant coastal urban area in the Mediterranean, Athens is also the capital of the Attica region and is the southernmost capital on the European mainland. With its urban area's population numbering over 3.6 million, it is the eighth-largest urban area in the European Union (EU).

Thessaloniki is the second-largest city in Greece. It is the largest city of Northern Greece, with slightly over one million inhabitants in its metropolitan area, the capital of the geographic region of Macedonia, the administrative region of Central Macedonia and the Decentralized Administration of Macedonia and Thrace.

Patras is Greece's third-largest city and the regional capital and largest city of Western Greece, in the northern Peloponnese, 215 km (134 mi) west of Athens. The city is built at the foot of Mount Panachaikon, overlooking the Gulf of Patras.

Kallithea is a suburb in Athens agglomeration and a municipality in south Athens regional unit. It is the eighth largest municipality in Greece, as well as the fourth biggest in the Athens urban area. Additionally, it is the 2nd most densely populated municipality in Greece and one of the most densely populated cities in the world, with 20,240/km2 (52,400/sq mi). Nicaea, also known as Nikaia or Nice, was an ancient Greek city in the northwestern Anatolian region of Bithynia.

Volos is a coastal port city in Thessaly situated midway on the Greek mainland, about 170 kilometres north of Athens and 140 kilometres south of Thessaloniki. It is the capital of the Magnesia regional unit of the Thessaly Region. Volos is also the only outlet to the sea from Thessaly, the country's largest agricultural region.
