Nezahualcóyotl

The Bordo de Xochiaca landfill was one of the largest landfills in the Valley of Mexico, covering 150 hectares.

Nezahualcóyotl was named after the lord of Texcoco, an ally of the Aztec Triple Alliance.

The city has one of the highest crime rates in the State of Mexico.

The Orquesta Sinfónica Infantil y Banda Sinfónica de Nezahualcóyotl, created in 1998, is the only organization of its type in the State of Mexico.

The Ciudad Deportiva, built in 1990, is located on the edge of what was the Bordo de Xochiaca landfill.
