Mukono

Mukono Municipality is located 21 kilometres east of Kampala along the Kampala-Jinja Highway.

Mukono's population increased from 46,506 in 2002 to 929,224 in 2024.

The Mukono Municipality administration includes a political arm headed by the Mayor and a technical arm headed by the Town Clerk.

Namilyango College is the oldest boys boarding high school in Uganda, located 8 kilometres south-west of Mukono.

Mukono Central Market is one of the points of interest within the town limits.
