Ali Sabieh

Ali Sabieh became a 'boom city' when the Ethio-Djibouti Railways reached it on 14 July 1900.

The city is located in a mountainous area at an elevation of 756 metres (2,480 feet) above sea level.

Ali Sabieh has a hot semi-arid climate, with average high temperatures in summer ranging from 32 °C (90 °F) to 37 °C (99 °F).

As of the 2024 census, Ali Sabieh has a population of 44,782, making it the second-most populous city in Djibouti.

Football and basketball are the most popular sports in Ali Sabieh, with a football field that can accommodate 1,500 spectators.
