Chengdu

Chengdu is the only major city in China to have remained at an unchanged location with an unchanged name throughout the imperial, republican, and communist eras.

The city emblem of Chengdu, adopted in 2011, is inspired by the Golden Sun Bird, an ancient relic unearthed in 2001.

Chengdu was the first target to be conquered by the Qin state in the process of unifying China.

Chengdu is known as 'the Abundant Land' due to its fertile soil, favorable climate, and the Dujiangyan Irrigation System.

Chengdu has more tea houses and bars than Shanghai, despite having less than half its population.
