Orsha

Orsha was first mentioned in 1067, making it one of the oldest towns in Belarus.

The famous Battle of Orsha occurred on 8 September 1514 between the Grand Duchy of Lithuania and the Muscovite army.

In July 1941, the Katyusha multiple rocket launcher was used for the first time near Orsha.

The Vladimir Korotkevich Museum is located in the former maternity hospital where the writer was born.

The Jesuit College building is one of the oldest stone structures in Orsha, with its foundation laid at the end of the 17th century.
