Bandung

The official name of the city during the colonial Dutch East Indies period was Bandoeng.

Bandung is home to numerous examples of Dutch colonial architecture, most notably the tropical Art Deco, dubbed New Indies Style.

In 1955, Bandung hosted the first Asian-African Conference, which is known as the Declaration of Bandung.

Bandung is known for its many old Dutch architecture buildings but is currently experiencing a high-rise building boom.

The city of Bandung was featured in the 9th and 10th leg of the American reality series The Amazing Race 23.
