Baidoa

Baidoa was traditionally known as Baydhabo Janaay, meaning 'the heavenly Baydhabo'.

Archaeologists have found pre-historic rock art on the outskirts of Baidoa in Buur Heybe.

Baidoa is the heartland of the Maay language, which is not mutually comprehensible with Standard Somali.

Baidoa has a large secondary school that had around 580 graduates in 2008.

Baidoa is administratively divided into four districts, including Isha and Horseed.
